John Petty, a 63 year old diver, joined 8 other divers on a trip to "Tiger Beach" on the Shearwater, operated by Jim Abernethy. During a night dive Petty vanished. All that was found was his mask and his photo camera. Abernethy was in the news before in 2008 when an Austrian diver lost his life due to a bull shark bite while part of a cruise on the same boat.
